Simply The Best Lottery Strategies

Article by Shane Halaska

The lotteryhas been around for a long time and for just as long, people have tried to beat it. The premise of the lottery is simple and everyone knows how the simplest of lotteries work. You buy a ticket from a retailer with a number on it and if your number is drawn, you win the prize. Current lotteries are similar and offer millions as prizes, with the prize structures ranging from a free ticket to hundreds of millions of dollars. No wonder the lure of the lottery is so strong.

A typical prize structure and game play is shown below for one of the most popular lotteries in the world, a lottery 6-49 game.

E.g.

How to play:

1. Select six numbers from a field of 1 to 49. 2. Purchase your ticket.

Payout (Canadian 6/49 Lotto Example):

Match Prize Odds/ Play

6 of 6 Share of 80.50% of Pools Fund* 1: 13,983,816

5 of 6 + Bonus Share of 5.75% of Pools Fund* 1: 2,330,636

5 of 6 Share of 4.75% of Pools Fund* 1: 55,491

4 of 6 Share of 9.00% of Pools Fund* 1: 1,032

3 of 6 * 1: 57

2 of 6 + Bonus * 1: 81

The lotteries that involve picking 5 numbers, 6 numbers and 7 numbers from a field of numbers is similar in play. The prize structure will vary from game to game. Obviously the odds increase as the amount of numbers chosen increases, so it is your best interests to find those games that offer the best odds to payouts. Since it is very difficult to win a the top prize of any lottery, choosing a lottery that offers better 2nd, 3rd and 4th tier prizes may be the best game to play if you really want to have the best chance of winning a prize and continuing to win. The odds are much lower and the chances of winning one of these lower tier prizes is exponentially greater, yet there is still the chance to win the top prize.

If you look around the internet you’ll find hundreds of lottery software programs. All of which contain tracking software to attempt to decrease your odds and help you win. Many are complicated, many are not. Some help, most do not. I’ve tried them and I’ve delved deep into the statistics and science behind reducing the odds of the lottery. But the thing I’ve learned is the simplest strategies are the truly the best strategies in reducing the odds and increasing your chance of winning.

The strategies that I have found to be the simplest, the easiest and the greatest at reducing the odds I will share with you here. I’ll show you exactly how they work and how they reduce the odds in your favour drastically. Now onto the strategies.

Strategy 1:

Choose only numbers from the previous 7 draws. All the winning numbers will be in the previous 7 draws 2-4 times out of 50 draws. You won’t be in the running for the jackpot in every draw, but the ones you are in have a much higher probability of hitting the jackpot. Even so, you have a higher chance of winning any prize than simply randomly choosing your numbers.
